CONFESSION! I’m not a Star Wars fan. I’ve seen the original three movies but have no idea what a Kylo Ren is or what a BB8 does. I was tempted to see the Han Solo movie last year, but only because Donald Glover is in it. (Ps has anyone seen that Guava Island movie with him and Rihanna yet??? It looks so good!)
But – I love all these new weirdo holidays that are popping up. Like Pi Day and Mean Girls Day (October 3, obviously). And so yes – I will happily celebrate May the 4th because it’s cute and WHY NOT??? So, I made some fashion bibs for me and Rita and she planned this race course through Harrison West / Victorian Village / Arena District / Scioto Mile – and back.
The points of attraction are the Scioto Mile deer, the fancypants science museum COSI (currently hosting a weird science festival), a bunch of old timey Victorian houses and the start/end point is the Katalina’s, which has these incredible pumpkin butter pancake balls 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤.
When we got to Katalina’s, Rita and I talked about our Star Wars memories and please let us know if anyone else had to learn the Ewok song in grade-school music class.

Yub nub!
And Rita has kept the Yoda quote “do or do not – there is no try” as one of her personal mantras. And – check this out – one of my mantras is “keep it going keep it going keep it going full steam! Too sweet to be sour too nice to be mean!” That’s a lyric from the Beastie Boys jam “Intergalactic”, a song about outer space stuff, which is perfect for this Star Wars run! (Pls disregard the Spock neck pinch reference). It’s a great song to run to, and the official Spotify Playlist addition for this Just Me 4-miler.
Hope y’all have a great day – and obviously – May the force be with you!
